Over the years, I have taken part in and helped facilitate several volunteer and community-driven initiatives.
These experiences gave me the opportunity to work alongside people who chose to contribute their time, energy, and skills simply because they believed a project was worth supporting.
I have been involved both as a participant and as a facilitator, helping organize activities, connect people, create structure, and turn good intentions into practical action.
Volunteering taught me a great deal about collaboration, responsibility, initiative, and the power of a shared purpose.
It also reinforced something I strongly believe in:
when people come together around a meaningful idea, even limited resources can create real and lasting value.
Active participant in periodic cleanup campaigns along the Danube banks and the Danube Delta, directly contributing to the protection and preservation of the local ecosystem.
Facilitating interaction and knowledge sharing with international students, promoting local values and best practices.
What Volunteers Said
The intercultural exchange experiences created through our volunteer projects were not only about helping with day-to-day activities. They became opportunities to connect, learn from one another, discover Tulcea and Dobrogea, and create genuine human relationships.
The feedback we received reflects that spirit.
Toni, Hong Kong described the experience as “really nice and exciting”, highlighting the friendly working environment, the opportunity to meet local people, and the chance to discover Tulcea and the Danube Delta.
Amor, Philippines said she felt fortunate to collaborate with us, emphasizing that the experience was not only about work, but also about the “love, care and kindness” she experienced during her stay.
Rina Okagaki, Japan described the experience as “eye opening” and thanked us for the kindness she received, adding how much she enjoyed meeting and talking with the people at the taverna.
For me, these messages are perhaps the best confirmation that a meaningful volunteer experience is built not only around tasks, but around hospitality, cultural exchange, curiosity, and genuine connection between people.
Organizing non-formal educational workshops and activities for children, focusing on promoting an active lifestyle and experiential learning.
Purpose Factory (Fabrica de visuri) is an early-stage personal initiative that I am genuinely excited to develop and share.
The project is designed to help people transform meaningful ideas and aspirations into realistic, sustainable projects by combining reflection, community input, structured evaluation, and practical support.
Each idea can be assessed not only by its originality, but also by its feasibility, potential for self-sustainability, level of personal involvement, and positive impact on others.
The project is still at the beginning of its journey, which is precisely what makes it so exciting to me: the concept is evolving, the model is being refined, and there is still plenty of room to learn, test, and improve.
At its core, Purpose Factory is built around a simple belief:
A dream becomes valuable when it is given structure, responsibility, and a real path toward execution.
I look forward to seeing how this idea develops and what it may eventually help others build.
